The Last Kvöldmáltíð

The Last Kvöldmáltíð by Kolfinna Nikulásdóttir produced by Hamfarir.

The Last Kvöldmáltíð is a vision of apocalypse and catastrophe. The play takes place after the collapse of human society as we know it. It tells the story of a family of five that lives at the bottom of an empty swimming pool in Reykjavík, completely isolated from the outside world. The family tries to the traditions of the society they once belonged to, even though they can’t really remember what those traditions were. They do everything to avoid having to face themselves and what the effects their actions have had on the world. But the only way out is a complete new way of living. Can these five people change and thereby save themselves and the world?

The Last Kvöldmáltíð was premiered 11th March in Tjarnarbíó and was nominated to Gríman, The Icelandic Theater Awards in four categories the same year.
